WHITE STRAWBERRY-LEMON SANGRIA

WHITE STRAWBERRY-LEMON SANGRIA

I initially posted this formula six years back today, and from that point onward, it has reliably been a standout amongst the most mainstream formulas on Kitchen Treaty! Out of appreciation for Memorial Day Weekend, I thought I'd re-share it. Good wishes!

This strawberry sangria formula has been stuck well more than 1 million times! The Kitchn considers it the most prominent sangria formula on Pinterest. I simply call it tasty. 🙂

Some may contend that a genuine sangria is red.

Me, I couldn't care less in any case. It's sangria. When you're drinking sangria – paying little mind to the tone – life is naturally great. Who might need to contend with that?

This White Strawberry-Lemon Sangria formula specifically has turned into a quick fave in our home. It's sweet, however not sickeningly sweet. It's perfect sweet. The strawberries loan their mark summery taste while the acrid lemon holds everything in line. Lemon-lime soft drink finish it off and, I think, makes this strawberry lemon sangria especially drinkable – in somewhat of a hazardous way, really.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lemons, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, cored and sliced (any kind)
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced lengthwise
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle white wine (a dry-ish white wine is best – I like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay)
  • 1/2 cup light rum
  • 4 cups lemon-lime soda

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add lemon slices to a large pitcher, then the apples and strawberries. (I love this pitcher which seals airtight and fits easily into narrow refrigerator spaces.)
  2. Pour the wine and rum over the top.
  3. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 4 – 5 hours.
  4. Remove from refrigerator and add the lemon lime soda. Add a few pieces of the fruit to your glass and pour sangria over to serve.
  5. Leftovers keep for a day or so, but you likely won’t have any!
